Introduction
Assassin’s Creed is a game being developed and published by Ubisoft. The release date was publically announced on September 22, 2007 as being November 2007. However the PC version has been delayed until early 2008.
It is the year 1191 during the Third Crusade. The player becomes the character Altaïr, a member of the Hashshashin sect (the original “assassins”), whose objective is to kill the nine historical figures who are leading the Crusades. As the player finds and kills each of these targets, a piece of the conspiracy is revealed.
The environment is fully interactive, from the people to each of the historically accurate cities. Jerusalem, Acre and Damascus. Each city is fully populated, and the way the player controls Altaïr affects how the bystanders around him react.
For example, when moving through a crowd, if the player gently pushes someone to one side, there will be little effect. However, if the player throws someone to the ground and stabs them, the crowd could unite against him and he will then have to find a way to escape. Similarly, If he climbs walls, people will gather begin to gather, attracting unwanted attention from guards.
The producers of the game take pride in its historical and geographical accuracy. The locations in the game are distinctive models of the cities. All of Altaïr’s targets are also historic leaders who died or disappeared in the year 1191. If thats not consideration for the past i dont know what is!
