So with the game launched and everyone manically playing the game for the first time through, im sat here wondering, Is there any point playing the game through more than once?
Yes the gameplay is somewhat repetitive, but is there anything that will make you want to come back to it, and im pleased to say, (for 360 owners at least) there definately is… More

UBISOFT AND IFC ANNOUNCE WINNER OF SHORT FILM COMPETITION INSPIRED BY ASSASSIN’S CREED(TM) VIDEO GAME
SAN FRANCISCO - November 1, 2007 - Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, and IFC, the first and largest network dedicated to independent film, announced that Greg Reid’s short film “The Ultimate
Weapon” won the short film contest inspired by the video game Assassin’s Creed(TM) due out in November. As part of the prize package, “The Ultimate Weapon” will debut on IFC on November 14.
Greg Reid’s “The Ultimate Weapon” was among more than 100 valid entries submitted for judging via IFC’s Media Lab (http://medialab.ifc.com), a groundbreaking, integrated program which offers filmmakers a destination for
posting their independent films online. Submissions were narrowed down to a top 10 list by Ubisoft (including key members of the development team in Montreal) and IFC, with the eventual winner chosen by fans and visitors who
voted on IFC.com for the film they lik d best.
“While the top 10 entries were all very solid, video game and film fans alike voted Greg Reid’s ‘The Ultimate Weapon’ the clear winner,” said Tony Key, vice president of marketing at Ubisoft. “Ubisoft’s partnership with IFC yielded some great films and proved to us that Assassin’s Creed is able to engage people’s imagination and spawn creativity. The story and mystery of the game itself has already struck a chord with fans of video games and film.”
“The Assassin’s Creed short film submissions we received were outstanding and any of the top 10 entries had a chance to win, but Greg Reid’s entry proved itself the best of the field,” stated Lee Sparer, vice president of
partnerships for IFC. “Part of IFC’s mission is to provide a voice to independent filmmakers on all levels, and so it is exciting for us to have offered this opportunity and challenge to our talented filmmakers on Media
Lab. We look forward to participating in other similar contests in the future to help platform short films and other video content being produced by undiscovered talent around the country.”
Greg Reid claims his grand prize of $10,000, an Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, an Xbox 360 version of Assassin’s Creed and inclusion of his short film inside the Limited Edition version of the
game. To view the winning film online, and the other top entries, please visit http://medialab.ifc.com/assassinscontest.
“I’m really excited that our Assassins Creed short film, ‘The Ultimate Weapon’ was selected as the winning film, amid a very competitive line-up of entries,” shared Greg Reid, the director and co-writer of short film The
Ultimate Weapon. “Assassins Creed has it all from a gaming perspective. Joel Poehlmann and I wrote a film, inspired by the rich and dynamic backdrop of the game. We wanted to create a film and storyline that had it all; a
little intrigue, fast-paced action fight sequences and killer still animations. After making the film, I can’t wait to play the actual game myself.”

I have decided to write an article which will go through some of the bigger complaints about Assassin’s Creed. I’ve argued all of these points repeatedly, and want to do it one last time, onto the rant argument!
The Combat System
Okay there was a GIANT debate about this system on the forums a while ago, I thought it was as idiotic back then as I do now.
The combat system was described by a few on the forums as being “Too easy looking” by some and “Too complicated” by others. Though most of the professional opinion and even amateur opinion says otherwise anyways, I’ll focus on that. Those who play and review video games for a living have complimented this game to no end. Including the creator of MGS, Hideo Kojima himself. Anyways, heres some quotes I’ve gathered up which talk about the combat system and their opinions: More

Yesterday Ubisoft announced details on its musical score.
We are all eagerly awaiting next month, counting down the days until Assassin’s Creed arrives on our door steps. Either to shove straight into your PS3 or 360, whichever way you are more inclined. However, what you probably haven’t thought about is the musical score. You might be thinking, who cares about the music, the graphics are lush, I can swan dive off a parapet, what more do I want. Well. Try watching a horror film with the sound off, or Gladiator with the theme tune to the Poddington Peas playing and you’ll get some idea of how important music really is.
The music will be handled by British Academy Award Winner, Jesper Kyd.
Most famous for working on the Hitman and Splinter Cell series’. His musical contribution to Assassin’s Creed has been described by Jade as a “fusion of both traditional and medieval instruments with modern synth sounds”

Ubisoft Recently Officially Announced that they were looking to also make a Nintendo DS version of our most loved game.
Online retailers have hinted at the idea back in there listings since June, but it all looks set to definately happen now.
I am unsure exactly how it is going to work. To be honest, in my opinion there is no way that the game could convert well to DS. Graphics? The Massive Cities? Its impossible, Surely? Maybe it will be something like the Prince of Persia you see on mobile phones.
According to Nintendo you can expect the release date to be mid February, Just after the PC’s launch of the game.

With Just over a month for the Europeans, and just under for the yanks, I think the pressure of imagination is getting to all of us. I’m not sure how you guys are coping with the final month, but I’m not doing so good (shivering, panic attacks, trying to climb buildings, etc.), so I thought it would be a good idea to do a little ermm… tribute to Assassin’s Creed. Stick with me folks.
For me it all started with that E3 CG teaser trailer, where our idol is sitting on top of a church tower, and the bell rings, y’know what I’m on about? I never watched the Pre E3 teaser, but I suppose some of you must have, its cool, and is well over a year old now. All I knew back then was that you were a cool assassin, with a crossbow, and a blade that comes out of your wrist, and really that’s all I needed to know. From that point onwards, I was hooked.
Then came X06 and no-one can forget the first time that the bubbly Jade Raymond approached the press during with the first live play test of Assassin’s Creed. We get to see him riding into Acre on his way to kill William. We get shown basic versions of Crowd, Le Parkour and Intuition (Eagle Eye). For me, all this demo managed to do was make me set aside £50 for that October. Unfortunately for me, that October swiftly became “sometime next year, possibly Q2 2007″.Q2 07 came quickly enough, but AC didn’t come, only the Ubidays 07 trailer, showing off some super cool Altair PWNage. That trailer became the most watched video on my computer and not just for “that song” either… More
